FAQ / Contact

San Diego Linkup is a unique social group whose fundamental basis is courtesy, consideration and accountability.

We take RSVPs to events very seriously, because we want everyone in the group to have confidence in each other, and to be able to plan events based on this confidence.

After all, don't you want people to show up if they say they'll show up, and don't you prefer people you can truly count on?

Want to host an event? Please read the guidelines for hosting an event as well as the Linkup Good Hosting Guide.
GUIDELINES FOR SUCCESSFUL EVENTS

The Context

  • Most people on San Diego Linkup are here because they want to meet other people in a context of friendship and mutual support, both personally and professionally, and in a spirit of experiment and evolution. The events that are the most successful here clearly express that spirit.

  • There is a notable preference for smaller, more intimate events. Quiet venues are also preferred, because most people are here to get to know each other in surroundings conducive to thoughtful conversation.

  • The most successful events are often those in which people come together and create their own event collaboratively, each person participating actively in the creation of the event.

Specific Suggestions

If you host an event, please make the commitment to truly take care of the people who are your guests. This means:
  • Communicate with your guests in advance to help each person feel as comfortable and welcome as possible, even before the event.

  • Ask your guests in advance if they have any questions, or need help with anything.

  • Print out a few copies of the guest roster from the web site, and bring them to the event. This is a great conversation starter, because people will immediately see what they have in common, or what they'd like to ask another guest.

  • When the event is over, please drop a note to your guests, thanking them for attending. You may be pleasantly surprised where a simple "thank you" can lead.

Best of luck with your events!
